Butter plot
Freddy Roland works for Curtis "8-Ball" Harris, owner of Rhythm Records, the largest R&B label in America. On the night 8-Ball is due to sell his profitable firm, Freddy finds his foster sister Blusette Ford dead. She was one of Rhythm Records' most popular artists. Unbeknownst to Freddy, Blusette argued with 8-Ball about her contract before her death. But when 8-Ball refuses to call the police, Freddy starts to get suspicious. Freddy, along with his girlfriend Carmen Jones and aide Rick Darren, the future owner of the label, wants to take revenge on 8-Ball.
