Tailgating is really good. Best Dutch genre film in years.

Original, very witty, excellently acted, at times nail-bitingly exciting, tightly cut and edited at the cutting edge. The lock with the rebirth of Hans takes this to an even higher level. Crijns clearly has something to say, without being pretentious for a moment. This movie deserves a large audience.

4*

PS

Would the prologue with the cyclist have been taped for the film later? Feels like the result of a reshoot, to make the exterminator's danger clear sooner.

The acting in this film is not great, with the exception of the 2 daughters, who panicked very convincingly. I thought it was funny how stereotypical these people were. A brand new house in a brand new residential area with a Volvo on the doorstep. And they just grumble at each other, and the daughters in the back busy with iPad and selfies.... and arguing because all the little children are arguing and are annoyingly annoying in the car on their way to grandpa and grandma uut Twente.

And yes, it's unbelievable (Oatmeal soup, is there such a thing?!) and they make the most clumsy choices you can make, and they already had a 1000 chance to escape or overpower, but that's part of these kind of movies believe I. I laughed out loud as they tore through a residential area in their Volvo, giving it a little extra gas at every speed bump, nearly killing a kid who could barely jump off his tractor in time, eventually coming to a stop in the sandbox, and a local resident. angry "Come on joe d'r moar eem!!!" called out. And my goodness, then those cops, what the hell are they? Completely apathetic those guys, they can't be taken seriously? I understand that it had to become clear to the viewer that we no longer ended up in a poop neighborhood in Hilversum but in a fictitious village (Stroink?) in Twente, but if this is the police from Twente I wouldn't feel very safe there. I'm not very familiar with Twente, but I also have the idea that the accents were rather well-made and that these actors are not real Twente people.

Oh well, ant fucking about movies, always fun. I did enjoy myself, I thought the movie was funnier than I intended. I'm just going to be generous and give 3 stars!
