Roy Gundersen has spent two years in prison for participating in an illegal street race. When he is released, he is completely grounded, but determined to get his life back on track. In an effort to make amends and be a good role model for his daughter Nina, he goes to work at a gas station. Roy's girlfriend throws a "get out of jail" party for him, where some of his old racing enemies also appear. They challenge him to another race, but Roy refuses. But when Nina gets into trouble with her boyfriend Charlie, Roy is forced back into his old life.
