"He's a cop that's not. Believe that!"
Miles Logan is a jewel thief who has just made his mark by stealing a giant diamond. However, he gets caught and hides his loot in a building. When he is released after two years, and wants to collect his loot, he finds out that the building has been turned into a police building. He disguises himself as a cop to get close to the diamond.

It always remains special when a production with Martin Lawrence in the lead role does not get the blood under my nails. Blue Streak is another one of those. Entertaining comedy with especially a good series of witty supporting roles. Lawrence does his best to make the film "the Martin Lawrence show", but is mostly too over the top and forcedly comical to be fun. Fortunately, the script has some very comical moments and Greene, Forsythe and wimpy Wilson are covered enough. Couple of funny characters, film is nicely put together and finally no boring love story in a sideline.

I also saw this one in the distant past, I think before I was registered here. Several times also which made it one of my favorite comedies. Today it's still entertaining, but it's all a bit less.
Maybe I'm not the only one who has outgrown Lawrence, because where is he today? Martin's comic style is overdone, but that's what makes him so much fun. It's really not all funny and some of the black jokes are very easy, but the hyperactive posturing throughout the movie is just great fun. Luke Wilson is his wimpy, neat partner who, of course, is ideally suited to counteract.
The fact that a police station has been built on your chosen diamond location is a good joke in itself. The ways in which Miles manages to maneuver ever closer to his precious is hardly boring. The film has enough pace, although it all remains very superficial. But there's nothing wrong with that every now and then.

Entertaining movie, had to laugh a few times. Martin Lawrence is also quite funny. As expected a thin story, but that didn't bother because there was enough happening in the film. Slightly simple ending. Big enough for me and little 7.
