Beyond the Law plot
Former cop Wilson finds himself reliving his old life when his estranged son is killed. He has nothing to lose and is looking for answers. During his search, he comes into contact with dangerous people from the underworld. A detective is also determined to find the killer and comes to Wilson's aid.

Chance Wilson [Chester Rushing] is a young loser whose gambling addiction has left him in serious financial debt with the wrong people. When creditor Desmond Packard [Zack Ward] demands his money in vain, he shoots Chance dead. But oops, father Frank Wilson is an ex-CIA agent who knows his stuff and is out for revenge. DMX plays the corrupt detective investigating the murder and Steven Seagal has a bizarre role as Desmond's father (or something) who provides his "son" with wise life lessons in between visits to shooting ranges and charity events. This would have been slightly better without the pointless addition of Seagal, but then this would have been an extremely mediocre B-thriller with no interesting names.
