Arlempdes, La Légende du Premier Château de la Loire plot

In 1538, at the beginning of the Wars of Religion, the castle of Arlempdes, property of the Poitiers family (loyal to the King of France), was threatened by the Huguenots led by Antoine de Chambonas. The Huguenots wanted to overthrow the royal power and take possession of the castle, the first strategic stronghold on the Loire in the kingdom of France. Françoise de Brézé, daughter of Diane de Poitiers, undertook a three-year military campaign with the help of her knight, Jean de Goys, to reconquer her mother's fief.
