Zac Efron will be allowed to promote his latest movie, The Iron Claw, after receiving an interim agreement from the actors union SAG-AFTRA.

Currently, actors in the United States are not allowed to promote or make public appearances regarding any new projects due to strike rules.

Since May of this year, various Hollywood productions have shut down due to a strike from the Writer's Guild of America, and that group was subsequently joined by the actor's union. It is the first time in 60 years that both writers and actors have been on strike at the same time.

However, certain independent productions can receive exemptions if they are not backed by major studios, and this is the case with The Iron Claw.

The official premise of The Iron Claw:

'The film is centered around the Von Erich family, a dynasty of wrestlers from the 1960s onwards that had enormous success, and popularized the iron claw professional wrestling hold. However, they not only had to battle inside the ring, but fight the "Von Erich curse" outside of it'

The Von Erich family is one of the most famous families in the history of wrestling, but their dynasty has been overshadowed by what has been dubbed the 'Von Erich Curse' after various deaths and tragedies.

Efron plays Kevin Von Erich, while Jeremy Allen White plays his brother, Kerry.

Set photos were leaked of the movie which showed Efron and White in remarkable shape for the movie in order to capture the hulking physique of the Von Erich brothers.

Allen, for one, wasn't a fan of the process required to achieve the look.

"You’re trying to consume as much as you possibly can, and, to be honest, you don’t feel great. I was training as well, but, I don’t know, trying to get that big, it’s no way to live," he told Esquire.

"In the morning, I would have waffles, almond butter. In the middle of the day, I was eating turkey patties and avocado all the time. It’s really just gross."
