Will there be a sequel to Wedding Crashers?

Owen Wilson has revealed that there are some ideas in place for a sequel to Wedding Crashers.

Starring Wilson and Vince Vaughn, Wedding Crashers was released in 2005 and tells the story of two best friends who crash weddings in order to meet and sleep with women, no strings attached.

It was a critical and commercial success, earning $288 million on a budget of $40m.

Wedding Crashers also starred Rachel McAdams, Isla Fisher, Bradley Cooper, Christopher Walken, Will Ferrell and Jane Seymour.

Due to the success of the first movie, there has been talk of a sequel for well over a decade, and Wilson says he and director David Dobkin have brainstormed some plot points.

"We're working on some stuff, yes. David Dobkin, the director, I think he's sort of, kind of exploring some ideas," Wilson told Extra.

"And it was kind of, one of those movies that we had such a great time doing it, and then obviously it got a really nice response. So, just hoping if you do, do something, that it can live up to the first one." 

Working with Vince Vaughn

It is clear to see when watching Wedding Crashers that Wilson and Vaughn have superb chemistry on-screen as the two best friends.

Wilson says it was so good that they actually became that close in real life.

"I met Vince through Ben Stiller, not long after I got to Los Angeles, but it wasn't until we were sort of working on Wedding Crashers we became friends," he said of his relationship with Vaughn.

"And, I don't know, some people you just hit it off with, and are simpatico with." 

Wilson and Vaughn also played best friends in The Internship, a comedy released in 2013.
