Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Winston Duke joined the cast of the upcoming remake of The Fall Guy.
The Fall Guy originally aired between 1981 and 1986 and starred Lee Majors as Cole Seavers, a stuntman who, along with his associates, moonlighted as a bounty hunter.
Over its five-year run, 113 episodes of the series aired.
Back in 2013, it was Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson who came close to being confirmed for a remake of The Fall Guy, with McG set to direct, but nothing materialised from those negotiations at the time and so the project went back into development.
Nearly a decade later and the project has been greenlit, with filming set to commence in Sydney, Australia, according to Variety.
The Australian government and New South Wales will provide some funding for the movie, though they are expected to receive a windfall with the money injected into the economy.
Paul Fletcher, Federal Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts, said:
“We are pleased to welcome ‘The Fall Guy’ down under with $30 million ($21.1 million) in support from our highly successful Location Incentive, with the production to employ over 1,000 Australian cast and crew, and more than 3,015 Australian extras.”
The Fall Guy stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in addition to Duke and Taylor-Johnson.
