A new full-length trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Pinocchio has been released by Disney as we get a further look of the tititular puppet himself as well as Tom Hanks' Geppetto.
The original Disney movie, released in 1940, told the story of a wooden puppet crafted by Geppetto who is magically brought to life.
Pinocchio dreams of becoming a real boy, and in his quest to do so he comes across an array of eccentric and colourful characters.
The story of Pinocchio is based on the 1883 Italian book The Adventures of Pinocchio, by Carlo Collodi.
The live-action remake was announced in April of 2015, with Sam Mendes slated to direct a screenplay written by Chris Weitz.
After Mendes dropped out of the production, Paul King was linked with the director's chair before Robert Zemeckis was announced not only as director but the co-writer alongside Weitz.
Tom Hanks stars as Geppetto in the movie and was keen to return after previously dropping out following Zemeckis' appointment as the pair have worked together previously on Forrest Gump, Castaway and The Polar Express.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will provide the voice of Pinocchio, while Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Jiminy Cricket, Cynthia Erivo plays The Blue Fairy and Luke Evans plays The Coachman.
Lorraine Bracco, Keegan-Michael Key, Giuseppe Battiston, Lewin Lloyd and Shiela Atim also star.
Over the past decade, Disney has put into production various live-action remakes of beloved cartoons, with Pinocchio joining releases like The Lion King and The Jungle Book.
Pinocchio will be released on Disney+ on 8 September.
