When Jeremy Renner suffered near-fatal injuries in a snowplough accident at the start of January, messages of goodwill flooded in from his fans and colleagues.
The actor nearly lost his life on New Year's Day, suffering major injuries to his chest, arms, legs and face after being crushed by a snowplough. He was trying to save his nephew from harm at the time.
In an interview with Diane Sawyer for Disney+, the host listed the injuries he suffered:
"Eight ribs broken in 14 places, right knee and right ankle broken, left leg tibia broken, left ankle broken, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken, socket broken, the jaw and the mandible broken, a lung collapsed and pierced from the rib bone - your liver."
Thankfully, Renner is miraculously already on the mend and recently made an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmell show to talk about his recovery.
He revealed that Avengers co-star Paul Rudd sent him a get well soon message in the form of a Cameo video - the service in which celebrities charge for short clips wishing people a happy birthday among other things.
"Rudd, who I love so much, happened to be in town promoting his movie," Renner recalled.
"He came by a couple of times, to the hospital, always making my day as he's one of the funniest guys around. He sent me a cameo, where you pay money to have some movie star say 'Hey, happy birthday!'
"He made a fake one, like I paid him money for a Cameo."
In the video message, Rudd says:
"Hey Jerry, I hear you're a little banged up. Got in a fight with a snowblower?
"Anyway, I just wanted to send this video. It's really from the heart. Hope you're feeling better, apparently you are. Apparently, you're a really tough guy.
"Maybe I'll get to meet you one day - wouldn't that be something! Take care, and take it easy for a while. And, next time maybe just let the snow melt!"
