'A reimagining of the BBC One series The Driver, this hour-long thriller series follows Gray Parish - a good man with a troubled past who gave up his life of crime for life as a family man. But when his son is violently murdered, old habits return, sending him on a relentless quest with moral intentions and dangerous consequences.'
It stars Giancarlo Esposito, Arica Himmel, Paula Malcomson, Ivan Mbakop, Bonnie Mbuli, Zackary Momo, Dax Rey, Skeet Ulrich, Caleb Baumann and Bradley Whitford.
As mentioned above, it is based on the BBC series The Driver which ran for three episodes in 2014 and starred David Morrisey.
Esposito previously worked with AMC on Breaking Bad, and when Parish was announced, he expressed his delight at being back "home".
“I am over the moon excited, enthused, and inspired to be in collaboration with the stellar network and creative team of AMC!” he said. “Thanks for believing in me. It’s great to be back home!”
He will also act as an executive producer on the project.
“Giancarlo is a singular talent who is already beloved by AMC viewers through his standout performances in ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul,’” said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. “We are excited to be continuing his relationship with AMC and AMC+ in a series built around him and an unforgettable character who takes what he thinks is a straightforward job opportunity and finds himself confronted with a world that tests him in ways he could never have imagined.”
