There is just one major movie release in U.S. theaters this week, and we have all the details for you.
2023 was a massive year for cinema, with the summer period flourishing thanks to the releases of Barbie and Oppenheimer. The movies were released around the same time and many theater-goers actually did the double-feature, which was affectionately named 'Barbenheimer'.

New Movie Releases this week
One of the most highly-anticipated movies of the year is Dune: Part Two from director Denis Villeneuve. A select few reviewers have already seen the movie and the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with Mike Ryan of Uproxx saying: “I was kind of mixed on the first Dune. Dune: Part Two is phenomenal. Up there with the greatest sci-fi movies I’ve ever seen."
The fact that no other movie has been chosen to debut on this day should tell you the big box office numbers that Dune: Part Two is predicted to earn.
