Netflix confirms full cast for its new Pride and Prejudice blockbuster series

Production has commenced on the new Netflix adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, with the entire cast being confirmed.

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, released in 1813, is one of the most adapted novels of all time with at least a dozen widely known adaptations over television and film.

The most famous adaptations came as a 1940 movie, a 2005 movie and a 1995 BBC television series.

Stars such as Laurence Olivier, Greer Garson, Keira Knightley, Matthew Macfadyen and Colin Firth have showcased their talents on their respective versions of the novel.

Netflix confirmed this week that production on their own version has begun, written by bestselling author Dolly Alderton and director by Euros Lyn.

The show is being flooded with some serious talent, as Academy Award winner Olivia Coleman, BAFTA winner Jack Lowden and Golden Globe winner Emma Corrin will play Mrs. Bennett, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett, respectively.

The supporting cast are Rufus Sewell, Fiona Shaw,  Freya Mavor, Jamie Demetriou, Daryl McCormack, Rhea Norwood, Siena Kelly, and Louis Partridge among others.

A lasting love story
