The first trailer for Creed III has been released, with audiences given a first glimpse of who Adonis will be fighting in the third movie of the Creed trilogy.
Michael B. Jordan again reprises his role as the title character, and will also make his directorial debut with the movie.
In the first two Creed movies, Adonis Creed, the son of Apollo Creed, battled 'Pretty' Ricky Conlan and then Viktor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago who previously killed his father in the ring in Rocky IV.
He is forced to confront his past again in Creed III, as the trailer has revealed that his next foe will be a former friend who has been imprisoned for 18 years.
In June of 2021, it was confirmed that Jonathan Majors would be playing Adonis' new adversary, and we now know that he will be named Anderson Dame. Within the trailer, we see a flashback of Dame and Creed as young men, with the former being arrested and the latter apparently being let off.
Dame, clearly, has a chip on his shoulder and blamed Creed somewhat for his imprisonment.
After initially befriending Adonis again, the pair soon become rivals in what will likely culminate in a climactic boxing fight.
Recently, Majors set pulses racing online with a set of photos for Men's Health. He, as well as Jordan, is in astonishing shape in the trailer so it should be one hell of a showdown.
As well as Jordan and Majors, Creed III will star Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Florian Munteanu and Wood Harris. Conspicuous by his absence is Sylvester Stallone, who has not been part of the production due to a disagreement over the rights to the Rocky franchise.
