The brand new trailer for Inside Out 2 has been released.
The first Inside Out movie was released in 2015 and became an enormous critical and commercial hit for Disney and Pixar. It was nominated for two Academy Awards and on a budget of $175m it grossed $858m at the box office.
It received acclaim for the plot, emotion and the performances of the voice cast.
The official premise for Inside Out 2 reads:
'Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who've long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren't sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she's not alone.'
The voice cast includes Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust, Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui and Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment.
In September of 2022 it was reported that Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader would not be reprising their voice roles as Fear and Disgust due to a salary dispute. Variety details that they were offered $100,000 to come back for Inside Out 2, while Poehler was given a salary of $5m.
The teaser trailer for Inside Out 2 was viewed over 157 million times in the first 24 hours across all social media platforms—including over 78 million from TikTok - which makes it the most successful trailer launch in the history of Disney and Pixar.
