Final trailer for Halloween Ends as Michael and Laurie battle to the death

The final trailer for Halloween Ends has been released, with Laurie Strode and Michael Myers apparently set for a showdown until the death.

Jamie Lee Curtis first played the character of Laurie Strode in 1978's John Carpenter classic Halloween, where she successfully survived the murderous rampage of the masked serial killer, Michael Myers.

She has played the role in several other entries in the movie series, most of which received negative reviews, but the franchise received a popular reboot in 2018 with Halloween, which was followed by Halloween Kills.

The sequel trilogy will conclude with Halloween Ends, which will be released in October of 2022.

The new movie takes place four years after the events of Halloween Kills, which saw Laurie's daughter Karen murdered by Michael.

The trailer, naturally, displays Michael going on another violent rampage before once again coming face to face with Laurie.

Halloween Ends details

Franchise creator Carpenter has teased some surprises for Halloween Ends, telling SyFy:

"Well, it's Halloween, and it ends. You'll see it's a departure from the others. It's interesting. Dave is a really good director. I love working with him."

Carpenter was speaking of his relationship with director Green, who is at the helm of the latest trilogy.

Green previously suggested that Halloween Ends could have an even darker tone than the previous two films.

"There's not a lot of games in it, there's not a lot of wittiness and retro joy,” Green explained.

“It's kind of a coming-of-age film, and it's a very different tone. And that's what excited me about it, is to have the three chapters that I've been involved in be very different from each other.

"They are all there to honour Carpenter, but aren't necessary just emulating him."

Halloween Ends will be released in cinemas and on Peacock on 14 October.
