Nobody became a critical and commercial success last year, with particular praise sent to Bob Odenkirk, who is now best known for playing Saul Goodmann in Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad.
Nobody told the story of a seemingly ordinary man who goes on a violent revenge spree after his family home is burgled.
A mid-credits scene left audiences wanting more, and they are apparently going to get their wish.
"Oh, I think everyone's really excited about it," Director David Leitch previously told Collider.
"Everyone involved is like, 'Full steam ahead.' We are in the script process, and I think we had so much fun making that.
"Kelly and I had a blast, the actors had a blast, the studio loved the results, and it's happening. I mean, I think it's happening as fast as we can make it happen."
When asked if he believes a sequel will definitely happen. Leitch responded:
"I do, because there are these certain journeys that you go on, and they're just undeniable experiences for the people involved. And that was one of them.
"And I think all of us want to go back and play in that universe, and we want to see Bob bring that character to life again."
Nobody 2 is happening
Producer Kelly McCormick confirmed that principal photography would start at some point in 2023.
“We hope to make it next year, so fingers crossed," she said in 2022.
"So our theory is you don't need to make a good sequel just to make a sequel. We need to make a great sequel. And so it's about making sure that we get it right. And if we do, I think there's a lot of hope that we can go next year.”
There are several Hollywood productions that are currently on-hold due to the ongoing actor and writer strikes.
