Charlie Hunnam was once offered the role of Green Arrow for DC Comics but turned the opportunity down.
An iteration of the Green Arrow character was featured in the television series, Arrow, with Stephen Amell playing the title character.
Hunnam, who is currently promoting Rebel Moon, was previously considered to play Green Arrow, though it isn't clear if it was for the TV show or a standalone movie.
"Some people in suits brought the idea to me and thought it would be terribly exciting for me to play Green Arrow and I did not share their enthusiasm," he told ComicBook.com.
"I don't who know Green Arrow is so I don't want to offend anyone. I looked at one picture and I thought 'I'm not sure green is my colour and I'm pretty sure spandex isn't my material."
"And beyond that, I was like 'one image, thanks, not interested'."
Hunnam is most famous for his role as Jax Teller on Sons of Anarchy and has appeared in several big movies like The Gentlemen, Pacific Rim, The Lost City of Z, Triple Frontier and Green Street.
Charlie Hunnam in Fifty Shades of Grey
Another major role that Hunnam eventually turned down was that of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey.
He was initially cast in the role ahead of Jamie Dornan but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts following the conclusion of Sons of Anarchy and filming on Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak.
“I developed a friendship with (director Sam Taylor-Johnson),” Hunnam explained in 2015. “But that was a somewhat traumatic experience for me. I didn’t want to open that wound.
“People were saying, ‘Are you crazy? Guillermo still has got four months to recast, it’s the fourth lead, you can go and do this.’ I said, ‘I can’t. He’s my friend.’ ”
Hunnam would later explain that he had full confidence in the movie, debunking the rumours that he got cold feet before the production.
