DC Comics have issued a response to circulating rumours that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star Jason Momoa had reportedly tried to get co-star Amber Heard fired from the production, and refuted that he 'had begun dressing like Johnny Depp on set' in a bid to wind up the actress.
Momoa's behaviour on the set of the soon-to-be-released sequel to the hugely successful Aquaman, which grossed over $1.5 Billion at the box office, has come under scrutiny of late, with suggestions that he had been acting erraticly.
Heard herself was found to be noticeably absent from the trailer for the new film, sparking suggestions that she made have been sidelined, or indeed cut from the film altogether.
Fans had also compiled a petition to have Heard sacked from the production, but it would appear that Momoa has had no involvement in the plight of Heard.
A DC representative is reported to have said of Momoa: "Jason has conducted himself in a professsional manner at all times on the set of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
"Jason works his ass off, likes to have a beer once in a while like everyone, but doesn’t show up drunk to set. And he isn’t dressing like Johnny Depp. He has always dressed in that bohemian style."
It would appear that given the success of the original Aquaman film, plus the overall popularity of Momoa as a leading man, DC will keep their cards close to their chest - at least until the performance of the film is assessed.
Aquaman will be released into cinemas on December 20.
