The official teaser trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been released, with Paul Rudd back to reprise his role as Ant-Man / Scott Lang.
The premise for the third movie in the Ant-Man franchise reads:
'Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne, along with Hope's parents Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, go on a new adventure exploring the Quantum Realm.'
As well as Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lily, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer will return as Hope van Dyne, Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne respectively.
The major villain of Quantumania will be Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors. Kang is set to be a major big bad within the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Indeed, one of the upcoming Avengers movies will be called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Earlier in October, a leak of the trailer made its way online and the major takeaway from that was Ant-Man looking bloodied and battered after an encounter with Kang.
When asked by Variety recently why he took on the role of Kang in the MCU, Majors responded:
"It was the character and dimensions of Kang (that attracted him to the role). And the potential that it had.
"I thought, 'I’ll take a chance on that.'"
He has already played a version of Kang in Disney+ series, Loki.
Within the new trailer, a contraption made by Scott's daughter Cassie causes the whole family to drop down to a universe below the Earth.
