The first trailer has been released for Air, a drama which tells the story of how Nike created a historic partnership with up-and-coming basketball star Michael Jordan.
'AIR reveals the unbelievable game-changing partnership between a then-rookie Michael Jordan and Nike's fledgling basketball division which revolutionized the world of sports and contemporary culture with the Air Jordan brand. This moving story follows the career-defining gamble of an unconventional team with everything on the line, the uncompromising vision of a mother who knows the worth of her son's immense talent, and the basketball phenom who would become the greatest of all time.'
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck play the real-life roles of Sonny Vaccaro and Phil Knight respectively, the marketing agent who signed Jordan to Nike, and the Nike executive who gave the Air Jordan phenomenon the go-ahead.
Viola Davis and Julius Tennon play Jordan's parents, though the basketball superstar himself will reportedly not be portrayed by anyone.
Air also stars Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker, Marlon Wayans, Chris Messina, Matthew Maher and Tom Papa.
It will be released in cinemas for a limited period before becoming available on Amazon Prime.
Amazon paid a cool $7 million to air the first trailer during the half-time of the Superbowl.
