Toch maar weer de reminder. Speech komt uit The Bodyguard

Een Japanse film, maar de Amerikanen voegden deze speech toe voor de release in grindhousetheaters.

Grappig eigenlijk, dat Tarantino zoveel waardering kreeg voor iets dat hij gewoon gestolen heeft uit de dub van een b-film.

Het paste gewoon in Pulp Fiction, het was echt een zin voor de persoonlijkheid van Jules... wat ook voor hem gemaakt was. Zoiezo is Pulp Fiction bekender dan Karate Kiba en is dus niet algemeen bekend voor de meeste kijkers, zelfs voor mij niet, dat dat zin eruit is gelikt.

Dat bekende zin uit Forrest Gump vindt ik ook wat hebben.

Forrest: My momma always said: ''Live was like a box of chocolates; you never know what you get''.

Ik vind het trouwens ook goed passen hoor. Totaal geen problemen mee. Maar het is toch leuk om de oorsprong te weten? Tarantino heeft wel eens 'slechter' gejat.

Het kan inderdaad geen kwaad om dat te weten.

Problemen heb ik er ook niet mee (ken de meeste van die films niet eens), maar ik zou het eerlijker vinden als Tarantino die films vermeldde in de aftiteling of zo, als bedankje (of doet hij dat) ?

Dat doet ie niet. Maar achteraf maakt ie nogal eens wat bronnen bekend hoor (in een interview of zo).

Moet Tarantino hier niet gewoon geld voor dokken aan de filmmakers die dit als eersten gebruikten in hun film?

Ik denk het niet. Ik weet niet precies hoe dat werkt binnen de filmindustrie maar de twee quotes die ik aanhaalde heeft Tarantino dan weer net een beetje anders gebruikt in zijn films. Dus het is niet echt plagiaat (als daar al sprake van kan zijn).

Betalen voor een citaat uit de bijbel lijkt me ook vreemd.

Bedoelde gewoon meer in het algemeen. Als een citaat al eens is gebruikt(of dat nou uit de bijbel is of niet) in een andere film, dan kan het toch best zo zijn dat er onderling in ieder geval toestemming wordt gevraagd of een bedrag wordt betaald? Helemaal als je eigen film daardoor nog beter wordt of een scene nog sterker maakt. Ben benieuwd hoe dat achter de schermen tussen de heren regisseurs wordt gedaan.
