Voldoende materiaal waar ik me nog aan moet wagen, al is het eveneens een feit dat de ware meesterwerken geen plaats krijgen in deze lijst: 'Days of Heaven', 'Mean Streets', 'McCabe & Mrs. Miller', 'The Last Picture Show', 'Badlands', 'Carrie', 'The French Connection', 'The Man Who Would Be King', 'Paper Moon' en 'Suspiria'.

Nihilisme, fatalisme en existentialisme, met hier en daar een kurkdroge noot. De jaren '70 ontdoet de mens van zijn masker en uiterlijk, keert hem vervolgens om en haalt het slechte in hem naar boven. Ik heb schijnbaar een perverse geest en dat maakt dat de jaren '70 goed op weg is mijn favoriete decennium te worden.

Waardeloos! De zwakke jaren `70. Zeker afgaand op de troep die zich vanaf nummer 14 opeen stapelt. 9 leuke titels maar verder een vrij eenzijdige lijst met de typische bekende namen, met nog veel potentieel kotsmateriaal ( Bergman ) erin.

Sleuth, Dersu Uzala, Papillon & The Godfather delen lijken mij nog wel interessant. Maar echte tips halen doe ik hier niet uit! Zo mis ik hier veel jaren `70 films die wel de moeite waard zijn: Halloween, Walkabout, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Amarcord, Annie Hall, Eraserhead, The Wicker Man, The Last Picture Show & Roma. Verder verwacht ik van de jaren `70 vooral veel van: Badlands, Woodstock, Cría Cuervos & Manhattan.

Absurd hoge waarderingen, maar het is wat het is. Jaren 70 waren nu eenmaal zeer sterk, heel vreemd dat het in de jaren 80 en begin jaren 90 zo mis kon gaan.
