Persoonlijke top 100

Tsjah, vind het zelf wel leuk eigenlijk zo'n horror top 100, logisch dat die niet enkel uit 5* en 4,5* bestaat denk ik dan.

Ach, Mikey moet ook zijn top 100 vol krijgen

Verder werk ik liever de top 100 van Jeroen af, dan die van Mikey. Met alle respect, maar die ouderwets "horror" is 9 van de 10 keer niet aan mij besteed, dan kijk ik liever een thriller waarbij het verhaal centraal staat.

mikey zal ongetwijfeld ook wel een normale top 100 hebben, dit is best een leuke spin-off. Staan overigens ook thrillers in dat toplijstje hoor.

Ik vind z'n lijst wel geweldig

Maar je ziet altijd alleen commentaar als 't om te weinig 'oudjes' gaat, niet bij weinig 'nieuwe'. Zelf zul je mij niet horen klagen over zo'n tof lijstje, wat maken die jaartallen nou eigenlijk (uiteindelijk) ook uit?

Uiteraard staan er ook thrillers in de lijst. Ik beschouw het grootste deel van zijn lijst eigenlijk als thrillers. Films als Psycho en Jaws kan ik echt geen horror noemen. En een ander groot deel van de lijst schaar ik in het rijtje ouderwetse horror, wat dus niet aan mij is besteed.

Overigens ben ik wel heel benieuwd naar Targets.

Bij jouw lijst komt het over alsof er buiten Amerika bijna geen goede films gemaakt zijn.

Ook geen horror. Verre van zelfs.

Ik heb het er destijds zelfs nog bij gezet:

Ook een beetje jammer dat je dit soort commentaar nu pas geeft en niet destijds. In de trend van 'wie de bal kaatst...' commentaar leveren op mijn top 50.

Je moet uitgaan van wat de bedoeling is van een film. Heeft bogdanovisch huiver bedoelt dan is het horror. Dat is een concept uit de romantiek (dark romantics.)

Absoluut waar, maar eens met CJ. Had zelf ook al bedacht dat je het op een vage manier wel bij horror zou kunnen plaatsen, vanwege de gruwel van de daad, maar hoort gewoon bij thriller/drama thuis.

Deze film zorgde voor ommekeer van het genre... huiver of gruwel hoeft niet per se zombies, spoken en vampieren te zijn. Daar maken films als Funny Games en Last House gebruik van. Ook eigenlijk misdaadfilms.

Ik denk dat je uit mag gaan van de intentie van de maker. En Targets verantwoordt zichzelf letterlijk in de film met de uitspraak van Karloff: 'Ik ben een anachronisme'.

Vooral recente films dus, niet meteen een verrassing. Over een jaartje een update

Veel mooie nieuwkomers moet ik zeggen. Dit is voor jou toch een vruchtbaar jaar geweest. Opvallend veel Vlaams werk in de nieuwkomers.

Een zeer vruchtbaar jaar inderdaad, veel leuke films ontdekt. Tussen de nieuwkomers zitten er ook wel een paar die ik al eens gezien had, maar pas echt overtuigden bij een tweede kijkbeurt.

Nu je het zegt, er staan behoorlijk wat Vlaamse films tussen. Ik kan ze alleen maar aanraden!
