Good.

A surprisingly fresh film with drama and horror influences from the director of Splintered (2010). With White Settlers, he's taken some significant steps forward. The plot builds steadily and has a few clever twists. The (lead) actors are also fine, but the film's strongest point, in my opinion, is the camerawork, especially the nighttime scenes in the house and the woods. The lighting is beautiful. 7.5/10*

Nice.

The comparison to You're Next was expected, but it's rather superficial (different mask), but really, this is just the Scottish version of Ils, of course. Home invasion video where the perpetrators remain in limbo for a long time.

A rather simple film, but the execution is strong. That makes it a fun, pure genre film that unfortunately won't score very highly, as is usually the case with these kinds of films, because the clichés are already established. This one, at least, didn't bother me.

The ending is a bit odd. I think as a owner you could just reclaim your house and have the people inside arrested or something, but it's clear Halligan isn't too concerned with that kind of logic. Whether it's actually a political message seems hard to say based on the film, but it's clear that there's some friction between the English and the Scots

This is a pleasant surprise. Exciting, well-acted, and effectively designed. For the true horror genre enthusiast.

3.5*
