Labyrinthus plot
Fourteen-year-old Frikke accidentally discovers a computer game that is played with real children. Only he can free them from the digital labyrinth. In a race against time, Frikke goes in search of the evil mastermind behind this dangerous game and hopes to save his friends.

For the youth but can also be viewed by an older audience, this quite original film with beautiful visual effects and colors.
Fundamentally, film is a warning about the dangers of the internet medium.
Partly recorded in the city center of Ghent. Fresh acting from the young people.

In "Labyrinthus", director Douglas Boswell creates a moody children's world, with a lifelike computer game as a children's hell on earth.
Fourteen-year-old Frikke (Spencer Bogaert) discovers a computer game that seems eerily real and then turns out to be real. For example, things that are photographed in reality end up in the game and what is much more disturbing, real lives appear to be at stake.
This actually quite funny science fiction idea is clearly too ambitious for the limited film budget. The actors do their best, but they have no chance in the messy whole, which visually still looked quite nice and especially of course the game worlds.
Nice to have seen this Family / Science Fiction film, especially for children, who are of course also the target group.

Predictable but refreshingly creative children's film that is particularly impressive because of its merger with the game world. A lot can be said about the content, but director Douglas Boswell creates a surprising look through the use and influence of paper. In addition, the acting of the kids is not bad at all, although they are written rather caricatured and easily written. Not exactly figures that a child/audience can easily bond with, let alone remember for a long time once the film is over. The villain of the whole thing is quite a sad spectacle, but the film runs well and does not linger too long on boring (side) issues. Due to its adventurous character, it can be (too) exciting for the youngest children, but I am happy that children's films still dare to show a little visual creativity these days.
