Anya, a college student who yearns for love, is on the run from the police when she encounters thirteen-year-old orphaned girl Kristina, who is determined to find her remaining family. When Kristina offers Anya a solution to her precarious situation, she reluctantly goes along. The two start hitchhiking through the intimidating landscape of Russia.
