Solid.

The Clearing is a fairly standard thriller, but without much frills and that makes it a bit more digestible than many genre contemporaries. Story-wise, the denouement is quite nice, but the clever editing also has its share in that.

Robert Redford is as always Robert Redford. He doesn't seem to be able to play anything else. Willem Dafoe and Helen Mirren are good, without a doubt.

Although only from 2004, I think the film looks older. I would have easily estimated him to be about 10 years older. On the other hand, it does have its charm. With a playing time of one and a half hours, you can't go wrong either.
