A State Department employee was recently transferred to the US embassy in London. She is given the task of preventing terrorists from entering the United States. She soon comes under fire and is threatened with death and charged with crimes. She runs away while trying to clear her name and prevent a major terrorist attack.

Survivor
A "bite, swallow, go" action thriller you'll soon forget. The acting is decent but certainly not great. Jovovich is nice to watch but that won't save her here. I expected more from her as an action heroine. Brosnan is not great as a bad guy and surprisingly colorless. The plot is far-fetched and that is usually not a good sign.
It's all unbelievable and it's all been done better. You shouldn't really use the "mind at zero" argument, but I would recommend it to anyone who is going to see this film. Otherwise you will have an unpleasant evening.

Could have easily been made 20 years ago. Survivor is a tame and mediocre action/thriller that at the end also has to put the anti-terror people in the spotlight. What Jovovich's exaggerated character has to do with that bit of reality is completely unclear to me.
Plot is rarely believable, but that shouldn't be the problem, because I don't exactly watch these films for the plot. One problem is that it is marketed as a 90s straight-to-video product. Not that I'm McTeigue's biggest fan, but he's still someone who normally asserts himself a bit as a director. None of that here, it's dry and soulless directed.
And that all the coincidences and clichés start to get boring after a while. It's that it's a short film, so it has quite a bit of pace, but otherwise this is a big no-brainer with no speck of fun in it. It will soon be forgotten.

American Kate Abbott [Milla Jovovich] immediately asserts herself at the British embassy where she has to monitor suspicious applications for a visa to the US.
