Not a completely successful Rohmer. However, I liked the idea and also a timeless contemporary theme in which the tensions between man and nature stand in each other's way. Development brokers and building promoters think that the sky is the limit without taking little account of the nature, feasibility, necessity, ... of their projects.

The mayor sees it big. Who is already waiting for a cultural center in a farmer's hole where there are more cows than people? I did find the various interviews somewhere halfway through the film with residents who were for and against it interesting. It seemed like a kind of documentary report at the time.

It is a pity that the confrontation between mayor and activist-teacher was very limited. The meetings in the city, it was Lyon (?), were quite boring. Remarkable and rather easy that the mayor let himself be guided by the daughter of the teacher, apart from the fact that it was a beautiful scene.
