Three friends hatch a plan to get rid of their socially maladjusted friend Barry (Tyler Labine) by looking for a woman for him. But when Barry finally meets a woman, she turns out to be just like him. Now the friends have to deal with not one but two Barry's.

Labine is already unbearable in a supporting role, and in Someone Marry Barry, that is annoyance squared. The incredibly flat jokes don't help either, and a comedic talent like Wayans Jr. with rock-solid delivery isn't funny at all. Reason enough to conclude that Someone Marry Barry has fallen into the wrong hands.
The usual pitfalls, the extremely low joke density, and an unbearable lead make Someone Marry Barry a massive failed attempt. Not likeable, not funny either, and that quickly turns it into a difficult story.

A film that has the potential to be more; the fact that the jokes are lame is okay, that is to be expected, and the acting level and the group of friends are good enough, but unfortunately, as soon as we get past the first half of the film, things fall apart drastically.
Predictability is to be expected in this regard as well, but in the second half the brakes are applied and we get standard sentimental scenes that don't really fit the film and drag on enormously due to this same predictability; why can't a lame comedy just be a lame comedy?
