Master of the Universe plot
Rainer Voss was a successful investment banker at, among others, Deutsche Bank. He has left that life behind and now he stands in an abandoned office building in the center of Frankfurt, the financial heart of Germany. His account provides a special insight into the financial world of the eighties and nineties of the last century. In these decades, the Americans, among others, entered the German market and brought about a cultural shift. Voss is the epitome of this cover. Fascinated by the Anglo-Saxon system, he exchanged his small bank in North Rhine-Westphalia for 'the real thing'. He ended up in a world where for young bankers the trees grew into the sky and effortlessly earned millions.
