Cinderella (Lily James) is an orphaned child who is unfairly treated by her stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and stepsisters (Sophie McShera and Holliday Grainger). Nice. The story of Cinderella guarantees fun, romance, and many beautiful dresses and costumes. Kenneth Branagh isn't trying to reinvent the wheel, but he knows how to put his own stamp on the material. And with Lily James, he also cast the perfect Cinderella. And Blanchett as the false stepmother is of course also a great choice. Audiovisually it is a feast, and if you add the acting and directing to that, you have a film that radiates fun.

The umpteenth film adaptation of the classic, super romantic fairy tale of Cinderella. Visually a gem thanks to the glorious way in which Kenneth Branagh and his crew have polished the story with beautiful settings, beautiful costumes and fun special effects. Add to that the graceful Lily James and the shrew Cate Blanchett are superbly cast and you get a film that I think appeals to young and old alike. In any case, it was a real pleasure for me.
