For the George family, Christmas has been a celebration of taking rather than giving for years. They have become addicted to their luxurious life and the true Christmas spirit is nowhere to be found. Father is a workaholic, mother unstable and the two self-righteous teenagers, Nick and Natalie, are fixated by gifts. Only the youngest child is decent. Things change when Dad loses his job just before the holidays.
