Douglas Varney (Sam Rockwell) is a meek small-town pharmacist trapped in a loveless marriage. When he begins an affair with a woman (Olivia Wilde), she introduces him to a world of sex and drugs. However, things start to get out of hand when they start a conspiracy to kill her husband.
