Actually the same as part 1 but with a nicer and especially more beautiful setting. That it is practically the same as the first part is not really disturbing, the nonsense of both gentlemen is again funny; the story here and there comes across as a bit more artificial than its predecessor, the so-called underlying tension (wanting to outdo each other and some jealousy) as well.

Nice film in which the two friends make a trip through Italy this time and visit various restaurants. This second film is of the same cloth. The English countryside has been exchanged for Italy, and this again produces a number of beautiful images. The dialogues and imitations are largely entertaining and good, but it does become a bit monotonous.

The second part, and easy proof that a second part doesn't have to be worse than the original. Which also comes up in the Brydon and Coogan nonsense, just like the inevitable you were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off. Actually better than the original - Brydon and Coogan do the same thing but are a bit better at it, have grown into the game, and besides that the background is a lot sunnier and more photogenic. And then the Villa Malaparte also appears. Tu les aimes, mes fesses? and high time to re-examine that film too.

But before that happens, there are still two parts of Trip to go. Party at Blurp.
