Nice style and original idea, only the execution less so. There is a lot of talk, but nowhere is there anything explained about how things work and the situation is not discussed in more detail. I would go crazy myself and figure everything out. This leaves me with too many questions. Hence 2.5*

An absurd relationship comedy with a low budget. The theme of the doppelganger has been used before, but the original here is that the doppelganger is represented as 20% better, version 2.0. But is that really so? Ethan 2 comes across as especially arrogant, and if he does so many sit-ups, why doesn't he look more athletic?

There is quite a bit of discussion about the ending. My interpretation is simple: she bakes eggs, so it's Sophie 2.

Where the doppelganger come from seems to me an unnecessary question, you just have to accept that absurd fact. You can interpret it symbolically. The doppelganger are the fantasized improved versions. In the end, Ethan opts for the fantasy version rather than accepting Sophie as she is. He may regret this choice later.

Since I absolutely hate romance, I went into this with some reluctance, but the mystery part attracted me. Fortunately, that is also what prevails, even if the basis is the relationship. This is exactly the kind of mystery I like, and actually I think it's a plus that not everything is explained exactly. It does feel a bit weird that the couple is pretty quick to just take the unexplained situation and try to make the most of it, but I think that was the right choice because it had to tell a different story. It was a shame that it eventually seemed to become more of a jealousy story, there was too much emphasis on that.
It's nice that a new twist is found by meeting them, but the setup towards the end doesn't quite work. If then both Sophies react differently to Ethan 2's unconsciousness, it's clear that Sophie 2 is being taken. I thought that was a nice ending, because that way they seem to choose in a fair way for what they actually want; with the other away. However, in the final scene it turned out that this was not the intention after all (because Ethan was surprised by the bacon comment), so apparently the film was less smart in the climax than it actually seemed.
Anyway, a great entertaining piece of film if you like the genre, benefit of the doubt. And given my many spoiler tags surprisingly enough
