Kris Kras plot

Jurre and Kiki: always bickering twins of eight years old. With divorced, working parents, they have only one real home: Grandpa's house. Until their mother decides to move to Ibiza with them. When their grandfather has an accident, no one can take care of him and his house is put up for sale, the children make a decision: they will take care of him. That does mean; back to the Netherlands! What follows is a journey criss-cross through Europe. Without money, without speaking the language of the countries where they end up, but with determination. They meet special people, experience the wildest, most exciting and funny adventures and get to know each other and themselves better. But will the kids be in time to stop the sale?

What an entertaining movie. I like road movies. You can wake me up for a good road movie. I had to get into it and I don't always find the acting very good, but the longer I watched, it hardly bothered me anymore. I think it's an adventurous film with a fascinating story and a good running time. Nicely conceived and executed. Too bad the average score on MM is on the low side. I give 3.5*.

Telefilm based on a screenplay by Susan Stam, with guest appearances by Jaap Jongbloed, Birgit Schuurman and Victor Reinier.

This story revolves around the bickering twins Jurre (Kamiel van Ophem) and Kiki (Yentl Meijer), who have divorced parents who work a lot. That's why they only have one real home, namely with grandpa (Tom Jansen). But then they move to Ibiza with their mother Suze (Kim Pieters). When they hear that Grandpa has had an accident and his house is being put up for sale, they want to take care of him. On their way home, traveling crisscross (voilà the title of the film) through Europe without money and without speaking the language of the countries where they end up, they meet special people, experience the most wild, exciting and funny adventures and get to know each other and themselves better.

Nice but somewhat woodenly acted road movie for young people, with a good pace and a carefree scenario. It is also the feature debut of David Grifhorst, an experienced director in the television world.

All in all, quite a fun, funny and exciting family film for the youth.
