Angélique plot

The beautiful innocent Angélique is betrothed to the wealthy Count Peyrac. Beneath his repulsive appearance hides intelligence and humor that capture her heart. But a dark secret hangs over their fairytale marriage: a group of nobles, who heard Angélique plotting against the monarchy, are ready to do anything to take her out. Angélique is protected by the love and power of Peyrac, but the noblemen accuse him of sorcery and he is burned at the stake. Angélique loses her title and wealth. At the head of a band of beggars, thieves and prostitutes, she fights for her two children and for justice, even if this inevitably leads to a conflict with the Sun King, Louis XIV.
