Despite her severe lung disease, 22-year-old Lea travels to Zurich. After long years of suffering, nothing seems important to her anymore and therefore wants to take her own life with the help of a euthanasia association. Her chosen end is set and she is happy and relieved at the prospect of finally being able to put the disease behind her. She texts her sister Rita, her overworked mother Hannah and grandma Maria to join her. She wants her death to fall exactly on her birthday and to be with her family. Lea's former lover Heiner also hears of Lea's plan and travels to Zurich. In the guest house where she is staying, Lea gets to know the sympathetic Moritz and together they wait for the green light for an appointment.
