Le Chevalier de Maison-Rouge plot

The story is set in Paris in 1793, during 'The Terror'. The knight of Maison-Rouge (Paul Escoffier) poses as citizen Morand and is busy organizing an escape for Queen Marie-Antoinette. He is assisted by Dixmer (Georges Dorival), a tanner who pretends to be a revolutionary. Together they make several attempts to save the Queen. Meanwhile, Dixmer's wife, Geneviève (Marie-Louise Derval), has an extramarital affair with young lieutenant Maurice Lindey. This causes problems... Film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Alexandre Dumas.
