Korean pop culture, or K-pop, has been extremely popular in Asia since the late 1990s, dominating both the charts and prime-time television: a phenomenon known as Hallyu or Korean Wave. This includes 9 Muses, a girl group being groomed for international stardom by the powerful agency Star Empire. For a year, the girls are followed on the way to their debut. A year that is both physically and psychologically very tough.
