What Remains plot

A young couple moves into an apartment in a large house. During the move, the body of a young woman is found. The girl's name was Melissa Young and appears to have disappeared two years earlier, but she was never reported missing. Detective Len Harper throws himself into the investigation and, even after his retirement, is determined to conduct a thorough investigation into what really happened. It will be an intensive investigation.

The premise 'detective gets a difficult case just before his retirement and then moves on, leaving the inhabitants of the house with many dark secrets into the delusion that he is still actively working for the police' I find very intriguing. And to have it largely take place in a kind of spooky old mansion in the middle of the city certainly helps in terms of atmosphere.
It's dark, human, gruesome, at times gory, and thankfully quite believable as far as a TV series can go without getting boring. How Len gets his bow and arrow at the end, again, cannot be explained, but go ahead. Pretty exaggerated ending, but it got away with it.

I'll hand out a high rating: 8. And kudos to the acting, David Threlfall leading the way.
