Domestic plot
Alex, a ten-year-old girl, has lunch with her father. Her mother enters the kitchen with a live hen in her hands. The father wants to give Alex some money on the condition that she kill the chicken so that mother can prepare the animal for a meal. Alex agrees but soon realizes she can't take the animal's life. The parents then decide to increase the amount.
