Together with Live A Little & Kissin' Cousins one of the worst Elvis films. This film will also not have helped his mental state. Another such monster was Clambake, which Elvis is known to have experienced as a personal defeat.

Junk, all digestible by the hardcore fans (and even they would much rather see other Elvis films).

As a Belgian I find this a great curiosity. Of the 31 Elvis features, 28 are set in the USA as far as I know. Then there is one located in Mexico (Fun in Acapulco) and finally two in Europe: GI Blues is set in Germany and this Double Trouble brings Elvis to … Flanders. As is known, Elvis never left the States for any of his foreign movies. They did send a film unit to shoot some footage in Antwerp and the surrounding area. Elvis (his Flemish double Jos Clauwers, known at the time from the internationally touring surf/rock band The Jokers) and his flame (the Flemish double Paula Geerts replacing Annette Day) are sitting in long shot on the back of a truck and passing Linkeroever hahaha. Meanwhile, Elvis sings (in close-up - over to the MGM studio in the US) one of the greatest Turkish songs of his career: Old MacDonalds Had A Farm. Furthermore, here and there a bit of Flemish is spoken or something that resembles it. Bruges is also included in the film, but it consists entirely of Hollywood decor in medieval style. The carnival and funfair scene is bathed in a more German atmosphere. A European hodgepodge, in other words.

For me this is entertaining enough within the spy comedy sphere. Within the standards of that time it is not a bad film either. If you look at it with the eyes of the present, it is of course very dated.
