A Home Far Away plot

Ninety-year-old Lois Wheeler was once a celebrated actress. Now she looks back on her life and that of her late husband, American journalist and writer Edgar Snow. Wandering through a house once inhabited by husband and children, she tells about the illustrious career of the passionate Snow, who became fascinated by China from an early age. In 1950s America, where Senator McCarthy embarks on a witch-hunt for anything that smells of communism, Snow's journalistic interest is quickly viewed with suspicion.
