Indochine plot

Not really my thing. I didn't find the story very interesting and therefore I couldn't follow it well. I think the acting is okay, and Catherine Deneuve looks beautiful. I wouldn't call it a bad movie, but you have to love it. 2.5*

Movies barely interested me. The beautiful photography and beautiful costumes couldn't help this and even Catherine Deneuve's performance was not of a nature to boost the film.
Strange, because in itself an interesting theme, but both the romantic and the political intrigue remained stuck in a blur with me.

A grand epic film by the book, but without a heart. It remains superficial all the time. Catherine Deneuve does her best, but it all remains distant with a typical love story in a tropical country, but with an extra colonial lens. There are so many better films than this and it is now understandable why this has fallen into oblivion and caught my eye much later.
