Paul Baroni, a boy with a disfigured face, is part of a gang that manifests itself on the streets of New York. Through the influence of a priest, Father Callahan, Paul learns the art of boxing. However, because of his face, he is insecure. He must compete with himself when it turns out that he has the talent to be a successful boxer.
