The beautiful Susan Wright seems to be living the perfect life. She has a wonderful husband, Jeff, two beautiful children and she is close to her family and friends. But six years later, Susan is on trial for the murder of her own husband. Jeff is found dead in the bedroom, tied up and with nearly 200 stab wounds all over his body. Susan's defense is that she had no other choice. She had to defend herself and her children after years of physical and psychological abuse.

Indeed a very standard 'Wednesday evening' film for one of the RTL channels, but nevertheless well entertained. I like this, these kinds of films.
A real no-brainer, that still shows a piece of the raw truth. A man who is the biggest sweetheart ever at the beginning of the relationship but slowly turns into a monster. Alcohol, drugs. Anger attacks, not only towards his wife but also towards the children. Terrible guy of course, a guy who does that is not worth a pinch of salt.
But what exactly was Susan's role in this? Is she really as innocent as she seems? No idea. We get to see a woman who, after the gruesome act, is completely off the rails. Yet you keep doubting her state of mind: Is it real or a very clever game? It is understandable in a way. How long can you handle psychological and physical abuse without completely going overboard?
It is quite nicely filmed and the acting is passable. Not very exciting, but entertaining enough.

Great based on a true story with good acting and everything well portrayed, in my opinion the woman is just innocent and men like Jeff should not be allowed to walk around in this society.
